Creating A Cozy, Healthy Home For Fall

Can you believe it's that time of year again? Fall is here, and I'm sure you're starting to feel that cozy, homey vibe in the air. There's just something about this season that makes me want to wrap myself in a blanket, sip on a warm drink, and soak up the cozy comfort of my own home with my family.

For me, this is the time to create that warm, snug atmosphere in my home that I absolutely love.

And I'm all about keeping things natural and non-toxic. It's not just about making my home look and feel cozy; it's also about ensuring that my family is safe and healthy in our environment.

These are some of my favorite ways to add that extra dash of coziness into my living space this season, without compromising on my commitment to avoiding harmful chemicals and toxins. These tips aren't just about making your home look good – they're about making it healthy, too!

Natural Scents

You know those artificial air fresheners? They may smell nice, but they're also full of chemicals you don’t want circulating in your home. I always opt for fall-scented essential oil diffusers or one of these candle brands: Primally Pure or Aira Soy Candles. They not only fill my home with cozy scents, but also create a serene, chemical-free environment.

Soft Textiles

Natural, textured materials like organic cotton, wool, and bamboo add warmth and texture to my space while keeping my family snug.

Warm Lighting

Warm, soft lighting is perfect for creating a cozy ambiance. LED or incandescent bulbs in warm tones help bring the autumn glow indoors!  It’s also so great to use warm lights at night for your circadian rhythm… this will help you and your family sleep better!  After the sun goes down, switch over to warm lighting (orange bulbs, dimmed yellow lights, etc) to ensure a good night’s sleep.

Air Purification

An air purifier helps keep our indoor air clean and fresh, which is so important since we will be spending more time inside during the cooler months and perhaps not opening the windows as much.

Simply opening up the windows to let things air out is also a great option you should still do all year around, at least 3 times a week.  But for every day, the air purification system is still needed to rid of VOCs, allergens, bacteria, and overall keep the air you’re breathing top quality.

Toxin-Free Cleaning

I always keep my home clean with non-toxic cleaning products, and a new season is the perfect time for a deep clean. A clean environment not only looks better and helps me think more clearly while running my businesses, but is also healthier for me and my family.

I highly recommend switching over to Branch Basics if you haven’t yet!

Remember, creating a cozy, non-toxic home is not just about the aesthetics. It’s about promoting a healthier lifestyle for you and your family.

I want you to feel your very best - physically, emotionally, mentally - and this is a great place to start!!
